Prayer on the Prophet ﷺ for Rabi al-Awwal

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) recommends reading this prayer 10,000 times if possible in the month of Rabi al-Awwal

 

اَللَّهُمَّ يَا رَبَّ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَأَذْهِبْ حُزْنَ قَلْبِيْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، وَأَجْرِ يَا رَبِّ لُطْفَكَ الْخَفِيَّ فِيْ أُمُوْرِنَا وَأُمُوْرِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

 

Allahumma ya Rabba Sayyidina Muhammad wa ali Sayyidina Muhammad, salli wa sallim ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa ‘ala ali Sayyidina Muhammad, wa adhhib huzna qalbi fi’ddunya wa’l-akhirah, wa ajri ya Rabbi lutfaka’l-khafiyya fi umurina wa umuri’l-muslimin.

 

O Allah, Lord of our Master Muhammad and the Family of our Master Muhammad bestow prayers and peace upon our Master Muhammad and the Family of our Master Muhammad and remove sadness from my heart in this world and the Hereafter. O Lord, let Your hidden gentleness permeate our affairs, and the affairs of the Muslims.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Sabur (the Most Patient)

 

Allah says: “Those who patiently persevere will receive a reward without measure.” (39:10) In this prayer, Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him), teaches us to ask Allah through the Prophet, the most patient of people, to make us among those who patiently persevere and thus receive a reward without measure.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا صَبورُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الصَّبور و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً، و اجْعَلْني بِهِ مِنْ الصَّابِرِينَ الَّذِين يُؤْتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَاب في خَيْرٍ و لُطْفٍ و عَافِيَةٍ إِحْسَاناً و كَرَماً

O Allah, the Most Patient, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the most patient Prophet, and upon his Family and Companions. By him make me among the patient who are given their reward without measure accompanied with goodness, kindness and wellbeing out of Your grace and generosity.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Rashid (the Guide to what is right)

We continue our journey through Sayyidi Habib Umar’s collection of prayers using Allah’s beautiful names. In this collection, Habib Umar calls upon Allah by His beautiful names and then asks Him to bestow prayers upon His Beloved by those names. Finally, he asks Allah for a portion of those attributes which belong to Allah and which He has bestowed upon His Messenger ﷺ.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا رَشِيدُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الرَّشِيدِ و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً، و أَلْهِمْني بِهِ رُشْدِي وارْزُقْني نَشْرَ الرُّشْدِ في الخَلْقِ خُصوصاً و عُموماً و هَيِّئْ لي بِهِ مِنْ أَمْري رَشَداً

 

O Allah, the Guide to what is right, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, the rightly guided one and upon his Family and Companions. By him inspire me to do what is right and allow me to spread guidance to all people – both the elite and ordinary people – and by him arrange my affairs in the right way.

 

Weekly Salawat: Ya Warith (the Inheritor)

Allah says: “then We gave the Book as inheritance to those whom We chose of Our servants.” (35:32) In this prayer, Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him), teaches us to seek our portion of that inheritance.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا وارِثُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ أَعْظَمِ وارِثٍ لِكِتابِكَ المُهَيْمِنِ الكَرِيمِ المَجِيدِ العَظِيمِ و مُوَرِّثٍ لِأَسْرَارِهِ و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً، واجْعَلْ سَهْمِي مِنْ إِرْثِهِ سَهْماً جَسِيماً فَخِيماً و حَظِّي مِنْهُ حَظَّاً وافِراً عَظِيماً

O Allah, the Inheritor, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, the greatest inheritor of Your mighty and noble Book, the guardian of all other books, and the greatest transmitter of its secrets, and upon his Family and Companions. Bless me with a vast portion of his inheritance.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Badi` (the Wondrous)

In this prayer, Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him), calls upon Allah, the Wondrous to bestow prayers upon His Beloved, the most wondrous of His creation in every sense.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا بَدِيعُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ أَبْدَعِ خَلْقِكَ رُوحاً و جِسْماً حِسَّاً و مَعْنىً ظاهِراً و باطِناً أَوَّلاً و آخِراً و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً، و هَبْ لي بِهِ بَدائِعَ المعَارِفِ و العُلُومِ و الشُّهُودَ الأَسْنى و مَكِّني بِهِ تَمْكِيناً

Allahumma ya Allahu ya Badi`u salli `ala `abdika wa habibika sayyidina Muhammad an-Nabi abda`i khalqika ruhan wa jisman wa hissan wa ma`nan zahiran wa batinan awwalan wa akhiran wa `ala alihi wa sahbihi wa sallim taslīman wa hab li bihi bada’i`a’l-ma`arifi wa’l-`ulumi wa’shuhuda’-asna ma makkinni bihi tamikina

 

O Allah, the Wondrous, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, the most wondrous of all Your creatures from the first of them to the last – spiritually and physically, outwardly and inwardly – and upon his Family and Companions. By him bestow upon me wondrous knowledge of You and Your creation and the most splendid type of divine witnessing. By him make me completely firm in all of this.

Weekly Salawat: Seal of the Messengers

 

As we come to the end of this hijri year, we present these salawat by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) upon the Seal of the Messengers and the Master of the Prophets ﷺ

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على مَنْ خَتَمْتَ بِهِ الرِّسَالات

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على مَنْ جَعَلْتَهُ سَيِّدَ أَهْلِ النُّبُوَّات

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على أَوْسَعِ الخَلْقِ جَاهاً لَدَيْكَ في الدُّنْيَا و يَوْمَ المِيقَات

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على صَاحِبِ الشَّفَاعَةِ العُظْمى

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على صَاحِبِ المقَامِ الأَسْنى

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ على حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ المُصْطَفى

وعلى آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon the one who You made the Seal of the Messengers;

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon the one who You made the Master of the Prophets;

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon the one who has the greatest status in Your sight in this life and on the Day of Judgement;

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon the one who possesses the greatest intercession;

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon the one who possesses the highest station;

O Allah, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Chosen One and upon his Family and Companions.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Hadi (the Guide)

Every morning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would ask his Lord to make him someone who was rightly guided and a guide to others. In this prayer, Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) teaches us to seek guidance for ourselves and others from Allah through the means and light of our guide, His Beloved ﷺ.

 

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا هادي صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الهادي و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً، و اهْدِني بِهِ سُبُلَ السَّلام، و اهْدِني بِهِ إلى صِرَاطِكَ المُسْتَقِيم، و اهْدِني و اهْدِ بِي لِنُورِكَ، و اهْدِني بِهِ إِلَيْكَ و اجْعَلْني بِهِ هادياً مَهْدِيَّاً

 

O Allah, O Guide, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, the guide and upon his Family and Companions. Guide me by him to the ways of salvation and to Your Straight Path. Guide me and guide people by me to Your light. Guide me to You and make me someone who is rightly guided and a guide to others.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Mutafaddil (the Bestower of Bounty)

At Eid we recognise Allah’s bounty upon us and ask for an increase in it through remembering His Beloved ﷺ. Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) teaches us to ask Allah for an increase in blessings, for gratitude and for those blessings to be preserved.

 

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا مُتَفَضِّلُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ المُتَفَضِّل و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً و آتِني مِن لَّدُنْكَ فَضْلاً عَظِيماً و خُذْ بِيَدِي إِلَيْكَ أَخْذَ أَهْلِ الفَضْلِ عَلَيْكَ فَضْلاً و إِحْسَاناً

O Allah, O Bestower of bounty, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, the bestower of bounty and upon his Family and Companions. Bless me with immense bounty directly from You. Out of your bounty and kindness, Bring me to You as You bring to You those who have merit in Your sight.

Weekly Salawat: Ya Nur (the Light)

Every morning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would ask his Lord to place light in his heart and in all his affairs. In this prayer, Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) teaches us to seek that same light from Allah through the means and light of His Beloved ﷺ.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا نورُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ نُورِكَ الأَزْهَرِ السَّارِي و مَدَدِكَ الأَكْبَرِ الجَارِي و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً و اجْعَلْ به في قَلْبي نُوراً ، و في قَبْري نوراً، و في سَمْعِي نوراً، و في بَصَري نوراً، وفي شَعْرِي نوراً ، و في بَشَرِي نوراً، وفي لَحْمي نوراً ، و في دَمِي نوراً، و في عِظَامِي نوراً، و في عَصَبي نوراً، ومن بينَ يدَيَّ نوراً، و مِن خَلْفِي نوراً، و عن يَمِيني نوراً، و عن شِمالي نوراً، و من فَوْقِي نوراً، و من تَحْتي نوراً، اللَّهُمَّ زِدْنِي نوراً، وأَعْطِني نوراً، واجْعَلْني بِهِ نوراً، ونَوِّرْ بِهِ جَمِيعَ أَحْوَالي و شُؤْوني في الدَّارَيْنِ تَنْوِيراً

O Allah, O Light, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet, Your brilliant light which spreads and Your greatest assistance which flows (throughout creation) and upon his Family and Companions. By him place light in my heart, light in my grave, light in my hearing, light in my vision, light in my hair, light in my skin, light in my flesh, light in my blood, light in my bones, light in my nerves, light in front of me, light behind me, light on my right, light on my left, light above me and light below me. O Allah, increase me in light, give me light and by him make me light and completely illuminate all of my states and affairs in both abodes.

 

Weekly Salawat: Ya Nafi` (the One Who Benefits)     

The Prophet said   :

“All creatures are Allah’s dependants, and the most beloved to Allah are those most beneficial to His dependants.”

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) teaches us to ask Allah by His name, the One Who benefits (al-Nafi`) and by His Prophet who is the source of all benefit, that He makes us among those who benefit the creation the most.

اللَّهُمَّ يا اللهُ يا نافِعُ صَلِّ على عَبْدِكَ و حَبِيبِكَ سَيِّدِنا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ النَّافِعِ مَنْبَعِ المَنافِعِ و على آلِهِ و صَحْبِهِ و سَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً واجَمَعْ لي بِهِ المنَافِعَ و اجْعَلْني بِهِ مِنْ أَنْفَعِ خَلْقِكَ لِخَلْقِكَ ظاهِراً و باطِناً

 

Allāhumma yā Allāhu yā Nāfi`u salli `alā `abdika wa habībika sayyidinā Muhammad an-Nabī al- Nāfi`I manba`i’l-manāfi` wa `alā ālihi wa sahbihi wa sallim taslīman wa’jma` lī bihi’l-manāfi` wa’ja`lnī bihi min anfa`i khalqika li khalqika zāhiran wa bātina

O Allah, the One Who benefits, bestow abundant prayers and peace upon Your slave and beloved, our Master Muhammad, the Prophet who benefits others and is the source of all benefit, and upon his Family and Companions, and by him allow me to attain all beneficial things and make me among those who benefit Your creation the most inwardly and outwardly.
