In this prayer, Habib Ali al-Habashi poetically expresses the noble qualities of our beloved Prophet ﷺ . In his relationship with his nation, the Messenger exhibits the qualities of a father who compassionately raises and nurtures his children, protecting them from all types of harm while guiding them to the best and straightest of paths. People come to him with various ailments, some physical, some spiritual, some mental, and through his direction and connection to Allah, they attain health and safety. He is, after all, as the Quran tells us, sent to purify humankind. Those who come to know him are also cured of one of the greatest maladies, which is ignorance. There is no ignorance greater than ignorance of the creator, and no one did more than the Prophet to point the creation to the Creator. He was sent to teach people how to live and how to tread the path of eternal felicity.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وسَلِّمْ على الأَبِ الكَرِيم * الهَادِي إِلى الصِّراطِ المُسْتَقِيم * الرَّؤوفِ الرَّحِيم * الَّذِي يَسْتَمِدُّ مِنْهُ السَّقِيمُ فَيُصْبِحُ سَلِيم * و يَتَعَرَّفُ إِلَيْهِ الجَاهِلُ فَيُمْسِي عَلِيم
O Allah, bestow Your prayers and peace upon our noble father, the guide to the Straight Path, who is compassionate and merciful. The sick person seeks his help and becomes healthy and the ignorant person is acquainted with him and becomes knowledgeable
