On the Prophet’s Awareness of Our Thoughts

Answered by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him)

Is the Messenger of Allah aware of our thoughts, just as he is aware of our sending greetings of salam to him?

He has access to our thoughts, but the question is whether he pays attention to them, since he is completely focused upon his Lord. He pays attention to thoughts that pertain to him or his call to Allah, and thoughts that are of benefit to his Ummah.

Inspiring People to Long for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

Answered by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him)

How can we inspire people to long for the Messenger of Allah?

We can do this by mentioning his virtues, qualities and his life and by embodying his character and his dealings and by deepening our love, longing and veneration for him.

If such a person speaks he will have such an effect on those listening such that they will begin to long for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

The Blessing of a Connection to the Chosen Oneﷺ

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him) reflects upon the blessing of a connection to the Chosen One ﷺ

Your connection to the Chosen One ﷺ and your knowledge of his prophethood, his greatness and his station in the sight of Allah is a blessing. The more you thank Allah for this blessing, the more he will increase you in the blessing that is Muhammad. Your knowledge of his prophethood, his greatness and his station in the sight of Allah will then be increased. The more you thank Him, the more He will increase you. Welcoming the Prophet ﷺ

Advice from Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him)

Say to all his teachings ﷺ and everything he called people to: “Welcome!”

Then he will say to you: “Welcome!”

Then if he greets you and welcomes you, your Lord Allah will, in turn, greet and welcome you.

Uniting under the Banner of the Beloved ﷺ

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him) calls us to unite under the Banner of the Beloved ﷺ .

The name of Muhammad is written on the Throne, so let it be written in your heart. If his name is written along with the name of Allah in your heart then your heart resembles the Throne and it is connected to the Lord of the Throne. But if this name has been erased from someone’s heart then they will be in a terrible state on the Day of Judgement. They will be in a terrible state when they die and for eternity. If this name has been inscribed with the name of Allah in someone’s heart they will be in the same state as our Master Bilal when he was about to die. The Light of Guidance

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him) gives good tidings of the spread of the light of guidance. Extracts from a talk on a visit to the Prophet Hud (peace be upon him) 4th Muharram 1433 / 29th November 2011.

One thousand four hundred and thirty-three years have passed since the Hijrah and one thousand four hundred and twenty-three years since his death and the effects of renewal1 are such that it is as if Muhammad is amongst us. The only ones who cannot see this are those who are deluded or those who witness the effects without the Cause, those that witness the creation and not the Creator. The one who is connected to the Living, the Eternal, witnesses that the light of the Prophet is in every atom of creation. After hundreds of years we now see his light spreading in the East and the West. Continue reading The Light of Guidance

Our Relationship with the Prophet ﷺ

Advice from Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him).

People’s ranks and the gifts which they receive from Allah vary according to their relationship with Muhammad ﷺ. Some perfect their following of him and the gifts they receive in this life and the next are beyond description. In Paradise they will hear the tidings of:

“Peace!” – a word of salutation from a Lord Most Merciful.1 Continue reading Our Relationship with the Prophet ﷺ
