Imam al-Haddad at Arafat

This is how Imam al-Haddad (may Allah benefit us by him) describes standing at Arafat:

At Arafat all of our sins are wiped away and forgiven by the mercy of the All-Forgiving

We stood there – all praise to Allah and thanks to Him, and more is given to the grateful

On the evening in which the party assembled from every direction and valley, calling upon Allah and remembering Him

Hoping and weeping out of fear of their Lord, tears pouring down like rain

The party was full of those constantly turning to their Lord, humbled and broken

Those whose prayers are heard and answered among God’s chosen servants, people of purity and insight

Countless gazes, breezes and mercies did Allah pour down

And we hope that we will all receive His pardon, both the good and bad among us
