Salat of Imam al-Haddad

The following prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ was composed by Imam al-Haddad

O Allah, bestow prayers upon our Master Muhammad, on whose tongue we have been commanded to maintain the boundaries, to honour our trusts, to be content with what we possess and to patiently bear any losses we suffer.

On the Statement of Imam al-Haddad: “We will not leave them, even if they leave us.”

Answered by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him)

Please explain the statement of Imam al-Haddad: “We will not leave them, even if they leave us.”

The Shuyukh honour their covenants with those who are attached to them even if those people do not treat them well. As far as they are able, they continue to give good advice to them, pray for them and intercede on their behalf with Allah.

The Loss of Shaykh Shukri al-Luhafi

We praise Allah and at the same time express our sadness at the departure of one of the great men of the Ummah, a khalifah of the Chosen One ﷺ, one of the oceans of the Noble Qur’an, the one we love for Allah’s sake, the noble Shaykh Shukri bin Ahmad al-Luhafi. May Allah raise his station and unite us with him in the highest levels of Paradise. Sham has bidden farewell to one of its great scholars and an inheritor of the Prophetic Legacy. Hababah Zahra: Beginnings and Endings

Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) talks about his mother, Hababah Zahra’s early years, her funeral and her grave. He also describes his father, Habib Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz, may Allah have mercy upon them both.

He said of her: “She completely absorbed the methodology of Hadramawt and was a model of someone who followed this spiritual path. She possessed the attributes of human perfection and showed people how to fulfil their role in life.” Continue reading Hababah Zahra: Beginnings and Endings

Lessons From the Life of Hababah Zahra

Sayyidi Habib Ali al-Jifri (may Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) derives lessons from the life of Hababah Zahra bint Hafiz al-Haddar (may Allah have mercy upon her).

Every soul will taste death, and surely you will only be paid your reward in full on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is taken away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. What is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion? (3:185) Continue reading Lessons From the Life of Hababah Zahra

Remembering Hababah Zahra

Extracts from a talk delivered by Sayyidi Habib Umar bin Hafiz (may Allah protect him and benefit us by him) in remembrance of his mother, Hababah Zahra bint Hafiz al-Haddar (may Allah have mercy upon her).

“In this gathering we remember this noble woman and her departure from this life: a life full of tests, a life in which one takes provision for the next life. Few people live to her age, to be among those that the Messenger of Allah mentioned:

‘The best of you are those who are blessed with long life and good works.’ Continue reading Remembering Hababah Zahra

Keeping the Company of the Poor

Advice from Habib Ali al-Habashi (may Allah have mercy upon him and benefit us by him).

You must show good character to all people. Through good character you may attain the stations of the people of immense truthfulness (al-siddiqun) and ascend to the highest levels of certainty. Be the most gentle and forbearing of people. Pardon those who wrong you and give to those who refuse to give you anything. If someone treats you badly, treat them well and forgive their wrongdoings however great they are. Continue reading Keeping the Company of the Poor
